Most contain a clear jelly like fluid. These cysts are extramural and share the common muscular wall of the oesophagus [2]. The oesophageal duplication cysts are commonly asymptomatic. If gastric mucosa persists it may lead to ulceration, haemorrhage and perforation. An enlarging cyst can cause dysphagia, airway obstruction and repeated lung infections. Radiographically these cysts appear as a mediastinal mass. Barium studies show a filling defect indistinguishable from common tumours such as leiomyoma. At endoscopy there is a bulge with overlying normal mucosa. If the duplication cyst communicates with the oesopagus the barium fills in a blind pouch [3].

Gastric neuroendocrine tumor arising from heterotopic pancreas
There are few English reports on secondary tumors from heterotopic pancreas. Here, we describe a case of gastric neuroendocrine tumor (NET) arising from heterotopic pancreas. A 72-year-old woman underwent esophagogastroduodenoscopy as part of a general health check-up. An endoscopic examination revealed a submucosal tumor on the greater curvature of the gastric body. Laparoscopic and endoscopic...
متن کاملHeterotopic Pancreas Presenting as Gastric Polyp
Heterotopic pancreas is defined as pancreatic tissue found outside the usual anatomical location of the pancreas. It is often an incidental finding and can be found at different sites in the gastrointestinal tract. It may become clinically evident when complicated by pathological changes such as inflammation, bleeding, obstruction, and malignant transformation. We report an unusual case of a 25...
متن کاملHeterotopic pancreas in the stomach (type II according to Heinrich) - literature review and case report.
Heterotopic pancreas is a rare congenital disorder characterized by the presence of normal pancreatic tissue located outside the pancreas. The most common locations include the duodenum, stomach, and jejunum. Most cases of heterotopic pancreas are asymptomatic. However, the development of clinical symptoms depends on the size, location and pathological changes similar to those observed in case ...
متن کاملHeterotopic Pancreas- an Unusual Cause of Ileoileal Intussusception: a Case Report
Heterotopic pancreas is an uncommon developmental anomaly of upper gastrointestinal tract. Heterotopic pancreas tissue is very rarely found in ileum. Intussusception in children is usually idiopathic, but definitive aetiology can be established in 90% of adult cases. We are reporting a case of pancreatic heterotopia presenting as a lead point of ileo-ileal intussusception in a 1year 3month year...
متن کاملThorascopic resection of esophageal heterotopic pancreas.
Heterotopic pancreas is normal pancreatic tissue that lacks anatomic and vascular continuity with the main body of the pancreas. Heterotopic pancreatic tissue is a rare congenital anomaly found usually in the stomach, duodenum, or jejunum and is rarely seen in the esophagus. This is a case of heterotopic pancreas found in the esophagus that was removed thorascopically.
متن کاملHeterotopic Pancreas as a Leading Point of Intussusception: A Case Report
Heterotopic pancreas (HP) is generally asymptomatic and found incidentally. It can act very rarely as a leading point for intussusception. Thus, it should be considered as a differential diagnosis of the mass lesions leading to the intestinal intussusception. Herein, we report an unusual case of HP as a cause of ileocolic intussusception.
